The Perfect Tahiti Honeymoon Itinerary

The Islands of Tahiti are the perfect honeymoon destination for romance and adventure. This guide takes in the highlights of The Islands of Tahiti with a 10-day Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora itinerary.

Start your honeymoon in Tahiti. Arrive in Papeete and spend a few days exploring the island. Tour a black pearl museum and wander colorful rows of tropical fruit and vegetables in Papeete’s world-famous food market. Spend a day enjoying waterfall hikes and splashing in turquoise water at nearby hidden beaches.

Island Hopping: Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora Itinerary

See more as an island hopper by creating a Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora Itinerary. Island hop on a short flight to Moorea where you can relax in luxury resorts and wander the gorgeous shoreline replete with coconut palms and soft sand. The heart-shaped island of Moorea is one of the most stunning in the Polynesian archipelagos with lush, emerald mountains and secluded beaches. Spend your time here exploring Opunohu and Cooks Bay and enjoying water activities such as kayaking and swimming.

Transfer to the airport and fly to Bora Bora, the most famous of the Society Islands, for the next leg of your honeymoon in Tahiti. Stay in a serene overwater bungalow straddling a turquoise and blue lagoon. Romance is in the air on Bora Bora where you can swim, snorkel and watch the sunset from your own private deck. Don’t miss swimming with sharks and rays on a Lagoon Safari. You can even book a day trip to a private island via a Tahiti sailing cruise and have a pristine, white sand beach all to yourselves.

Take Me to Tahiti Itineraries

Don’t just take it from us. Customize your 1 to 2 weeks in French Polynesia with your own personalized Tahiti itinerary. Here are three examples – two couples and a family – who hopped on their Air Tahiti Nui flights. They believed they were coming to explore The Islands of Tahiti—but what they didn’t know was how they would experience Mana.

Helder & Fana Itinerary

Brazilians Helder & Fana love to travel, meet new people and experience different cultures—so we brought them to The Islands of Tahiti via Air Tahiti Nui to get to know ours. They got lost and found again. Learned to embrace, and release. And during all the go-go-going- took a moment to stop and savor.

Come follow them on their journey >

Erin & Evan Itinerary

Erin & Evan wanted to visit The Islands of Tahiti for their honeymoon, and so we granted their wish—with a caveat of course. Join them as they discover the dualities of the islands and find out how they would come to experience Mana >

The Gobbett Family Itinerary

The Gobbett family has traveled and lived all over the world and said they were up for anything. From swimming with stingrays to sailing, and exploring lush mountains to the bottom of the sea, follow along as they discover the many sides of our islands >

Spending More Than 2 Weeks in Tahiti Itinerary

In two weeks or more immerse yourself in French Polynesia’s warm, welcoming culture and it’s natural wonders. Start your trip in Papeete, Tahiti where you can explore the Papeete market and take an island tour to visit waterfalls and secret beaches around the island.

Next, take a short flight to Bora Bora and stay for at least one night in a luxurious overwater bungalow perched above a crystal clear, blue lagoon. Spend your days in Bora Bora lounging on a white sand beach, hiking the lush countryside, and savoring Polynesian dishes at five star resorts. Don’t miss an opportunity to hike to the top of towering Mount Otemanu for stunning views of the island.

From Bora Bora, fly to Rangiroa, the largest coral atoll in The Islands of Tahiti. On Rangiroa, you can basically live in your swimsuit. Test your metal by scuba diving with sharks or leisurely snorkel in a technicolor coral garden teeming with marine life. Enjoy water and beach activities by day and as the sky fades from orange to purple, watch dolphins leap from the water in Tiputa Pass.

Get off the beaten track and visit the Marquesas Islands, which are some of the most remote and diverse islands in French Polynesia. These stunning  islands are home to archaeological sites, volcanos, and myriad cultures. You can fly to the Marquesas from Tahiti, or hop on the Aranui 5 cargo cruise ship — one of the most unique Tahiti cruises that takes you to the islands while focusing on Polynesian culture and ancient sites.
